Women's Services

The following women's services are provided:

Please see the Modalities web page for more information about specific modalities and Referral Practitioners who specialize in those modalities.

Cancer Care: Many Health Touch Referral Practitioners are specially trained to support women who are dealing with cancer in their lives. We offer specific massage techniques for people with bone metastasis and vital organ involvement, and modifications for clients undergoing surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy. Energy therapies such as Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Acupressure, Healing Touch and Acupuncture can aid in reducing stress and pain and bringing greater balance and ease. These therapies along with coaching, other talk therapies and healing through art can help with lifestyle changes and healing on all levels, including finding, facing and embracing root causes, connecting with inner resources and bringing greater ease and peace to transitions.
Childbirth: Acupuncture has been successfully used for morning sickness and labor induction. During labor, acupuncture can be administrated to reduce pain and promote relaxation. Moxibustion, stimulating acupuncture points with heat, has been used for centuries to encourage a breech fetus to turn. For greatest success, this method is used between weeks 32 and 35. (See the Modalities web page for a list of practitioners)
Childbirth Classes: An unbiased, evidenced based course is lead by a certified educator. Learn to recognize and flow with each stage of labor.  Become informed of your options, rights and responsibilities, and many alternatives whether you are choosing to birth at home, in a birthing center, or in the hospital. This highly informative course also offers the wisdom of past generations of birthing women who knew many things within their control to increase the likelihood of a smooth birth. Offered in a one intensive weekend format for your convenience. (See the Modalities web page for a list of practitioners)
Doula Services: A Certified Doula is a woman who is trained and experienced in assisting the expectant couple through labor and birth. Doulas provide continuous reassurance and emotional support, provide physical comfort measures such as massage, visualizations, and positioning advice, and provide informational support on the course of their labor and their options. As employees of the expectant couple, instead of the hospital, doulas are free to give complete and unbiased informational support.; Certified doulas do not make decisions for their clients nor project their values and goals onto the laboring woman. Doulas do not perform medical tasks such as vaginal exams or fetal heart rate monitoring. Several studies have shown the presence of doulas reduce intervention and cesarean rates. (See the Modalities web page for a list of doulas)
Fertility: Acupuncture points and specific individual Chinese herbal formulas address menstrual and/or reproductive conditions that prevent natural conception. Together, these two modalities balance the physical, mental, and emotional body. Other energy healing modalities such as Polarity Therapy and Reiki offer energetic clearing and healing to prepare for conception and pregnancy: clearing energetic fields, chakra balancing, establishing receptivity in body, mind and feelings, healing trauma from past sexual abuse, miscarriage, abortion and previous pregnancies prepares one to welcome a new life.
Infant Massage & Bodywork: Gentle hands welcome baby to its body and the world. Polarity Therapy, Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy can bring ease from birth stress and help with the transition into a new life.
Inspired Writing Series (The Grandmother Tree): Using objects, poetry, affirmations or other prompts, we will practice the art of allowing ourselves to be inspired by how these prompts affect our beliefs and our thinking processes. We will write during class and share what we've written. We will inspire each other by the creative interpretations of the subject matter. All materials will be provided. No writing experience necessary but a desire to explore the art of writing is helpful. (Judith Winston)
Matters of the Heart Workshop (The Grandmother Tree): A series of workshops to help women support, nurture and resource themselves. There is a different focus for each workshop (joy, optimism, security, potential, dreams, desires, going with the flow, allowing, compassion, forgiveness, trust and other topics that arise within the group). Easy exercises and creative projects will help us integrate this material.(Judith Winston
Perineal Therapy: This powerful technique in Polarity Therapy addresses the pelvic floor. Perineal Therapy aids in strengthening and toning the musculature as well as facilitating the release of deep seated emotions. After birthing this work is excellent for releasing tension and trauma in the perineal tissues.
Prenatal & Postpartum: Prenatal & Postpartum Massage bodywork, energy healing and acupuncture: gentle support for the mother–to-be is tailored to her needs in the moment. Ease for tense muscles, herbal support, balancing and healing to manage the wondrous but intense process of growing a new life in one’s body.
Reproductive Health Support: Support for Reproductive Health: Natural Healing Methods offered at Health Touch include working with Herbs, Massage and Bodywork, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Flower Essence Therapy, Ionic Foot Baths, Healing Touch, Diet, Heartmath, Creative Arts and Life Coaching. These natural methods can help women with painful or irregular periods, PMS, menopausal symptoms, fertility issues, healing from abortions, miscarriages, surgery, birth and adoptions.
Stress Relief: All Natural Healing methods offered at Health Touch help bring relief from stress. Stress is a term used to describe the wear and tear the body experiences in reaction to everyday challenges and tensions. Relieving stress can strengthen the immune system and improve overall performance and concentration. We offer customized stress relief programs for children, teens and adults by Licensed HeartMath Providers. You can learn to manage stress and you will feel better.
