About Anthony:

Hello! My name is R. Anthony Marino, MA, LCMHC. I have been a professional counselor for 13 years. I graduated from State University of New York at Oswego in 2009 with a Master of Science in Counseling Services. I am a bi-racial male professional counselor who loves this work and loves to help people live life as their best selves. I have experience as both a clinician and as a professional coach. The evidence-based practice that I use to structure just about all of my counseling relationships is called Strengthening Families Program.

The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is an evidence-based family skills training program for high-risk and general population families that is recognized both nationally and internationally. Parents and youth attend weekly SFP skills classes together, learning parenting skills and youth life and refusal skills. It is one of the most effective approaches that addresses thought management, symptoms/feelings management, communication skills, and life/family structure. As a clinician, I don’t just teach this method. I have used the principals and material in my own life, in my own home and can speak as a person who has experienced the positive effects and felt the benefits. Every opportunity I have to share this material with others, I feel energized and fulfilled. I also utilize CBT. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It’s most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems. I look forward to an opportunity to meet you!
